Pedestrian Killed in Greene County Train Accident on Route OO near Springfield
Greene County, Missouri (December 9, 2018) – A 57-year-old Pedestrian was fatally struck by a train on Saturday afternoon in Greene County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol officials said.
The accident occurred at about 3:48 p.m. December 8, on Route OO, approximately 0.5 miles east of Springfield.
The report showed that a westbound Burlington Northern General Electric Locomotive, operated by Ron Fosdick, 36, of Springfield, struck Jeff L. Dade, 57, of Strafford, who was walking on the railroad trucks.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
As per the report, the vehicle was undamaged and was driven from the scene.
