Bruce Berg Killed in Lawrence County Car Crash on Missouri Highway 174
Lawrence County, Missouri (December 8, 2018) – A 23-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday morning in Lawrence County, as per a police report.
The incident took place at about 3:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, on Missouri Highway 174 east of Mount Vernon.
According to the police, a 2014 Kenworth was westbound on Missouri 174 while a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer was heading east. The driver of the Chevrolet, Bruce Berg, 23, of Mount Vernon, crossed the centerline and struck the Kenworth head-on.
Police said Bruce, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead shortly after at Mercy Hospital.
The Chevrolet was totalled and was towed by Stop and Shop while the Kenworth was moderately damaged and was taken from the scene by McDowell’s.
The driver of the Kenworth was not hurt.
No further information about the crash was immediately provided.
The crash remains under investigation by the authorities.
