Teen Seriously Injured in Newton County Car Crash on Highway 59 near Diamond
Newton County, Missouri (December 7, 2018) – A Webb City teen was left injured when two vehicles collided Thursday afternoon in Newton County.
The MSHP said the accident happened at around 2:54 p.m. December 6, on Highway 59, approximately four miles south of Diamond.
As per the report, a 2007 Peterbilt truck, driven by Roger L. Jones, 52, of Republic, was stopped in the roadway at a construction zone when it was rear-ended by a 2017 Jeep Renegade driven by Brandon J. Burnham, 20, of Carthage.
The report showed that the passenger of the Jeep, Hutchison, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment.
As per the vehicular damage report, the truck sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. The Jeep sustained total damage and was towed by Riedigers Towing of Diamond.
